Who we are
Ask CleanWatch is a free information service operated by Visionstate Inc. ("Visionstate", "we"). It is separate from the commercial CleanWatch software and does not connect to any CleanWatch customer account or records. Questions about this policy: [privacy contact email to be confirmed].
What we collect and why
- Questions and answers: the text you type and the answers generated, stored to keep your conversation going, improve answer quality and see which topics need better sources.
- Ratings: thumbs up/down you give on answers, to measure answer quality.
- Anonymous browser ID: a random code saved in your browser to count repeat visits. It contains no name, email or device details.
- Referral tags: if you arrive through a referral link (for example from a Bunzl Canada representative), the link code, to credit that referral.
- Network address (IP): used only in server memory for a short time to prevent abuse (rate limits and login lockouts). It is not written to our database.
- Demo requests: your name, work email, organization, sector and anything else you choose to give (phone, message, how you heard about us), plus a record of the consent wording you agreed to, its version and the time.
Consent and marketing
Requesting a demo requires your consent to be contacted about that request by Visionstate and its CleanWatch distribution partner, Bunzl Canada. Marketing emails are separate and optional: we only send them if you tick the marketing box, and every marketing email will identify the sender, include contact information and offer a working unsubscribe link. You can withdraw consent at any time.
Who receives your information
- Visionstate and Bunzl Canada sales staff receive demo request details so they can respond to you. We do not sell your information or add you to other lists.
- Service providers that run the service for us: the AI model provider that generates answers (your question text is sent to it), a web search provider for some questions (search terms derived from your question), email delivery and cloud hosting. They process data on our behalf, and some may be located outside Canada.
How long we keep it
- Conversations (questions, answers, ratings): automatically deleted after 30 days.
- Anonymous browser IDs: deleted when not seen for 30 days.
- Demo requests, follow-up notes and consent records: deleted after 24 months, or earlier on request, unless the law requires us to keep them longer.
- Anonymous totals (for example, how many questions were asked about a topic each day) contain no personal information and may be kept longer.
- Deleted data may remain in encrypted backups until those backups expire.
Your choices and rights
You can delete your stored conversations and this browser's saved data at any time with "Delete my data" at the bottom of the page. You can ask us to access, correct or delete your demo request information, or withdraw consent, by contacting us. You can also contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
AI-generated answers
Answers are generated by AI from curated public sources and, sometimes, live web results. Please don't enter personal or confidential information about yourself or others in your questions.
